Artist's Statement

Line, color and light and the integration of nature and natural forms are the key elements in my work. The interconnectedness of nature's lines, from those of the figure, especially in movement, to those of trees, mountains, ocean and sky, is what informs the results as I paint. I steadily pursue abstracted expression of subject, and I find these key elements propose an emotional landscape. Sometimes intentional, sometimes accidental, line and color are critical to following a subject and to creating a story, as well as essential elements in creating a suggestion of the unknown.
